As soon as they entered the suite, Dale removed Alissa’s dress. He looked at her beautiful, curvy body. She was just as flawless as he remembered, truly a fantasy! She wasn’t a dream though. She was a real flesh and blood woman. The woman he still loved. Tears came to his eyes, surprising him as he was almost overcome with emotion.
“It’s okay, Dale! Oh, I love you!”
Dale picked her up and then carried her to the bedroom. She helped him undress. He gazed at her face as she gazed again at his. Then his lips eagerly met hers. His body was on fire with the craving that he felt for hers. He could see that she was feeling the same way. Even so, he was still gentle and loving with her. He wanted to prolong this first time together in two years.
The contrast between the way he treated her while making love and the way Alex treated her brought tears to Alissa’s eyes. Dale was considerate and passionate. It had always made her even more passionate in their love making. She knew that Alex loved her, but he just wasn’t Dale. Her tears mixed with their kisses.
When he felt her reach the peak of pleasure that made his own even more satisfying. He knew that he would never feel this ecstasy, this complete satisfaction in intimacy with any other woman. Alissa was his missing half. He wanted her back!
“Just tell me Stewart! What’s wrong?”
“You have to have misunderstood the situation. Maybe she is working on a story.”
“There were no cameramen present and Alissa was all over him just like he was all over her. I’m sorry, Alex, but they couldn’t even keep their hands off of each other in the elevator. There is no doubt in my mind as to what they did once they reached that hotel room!”
There was no way that Alex believed Alissa was cheating. There had to be another explanation.
“Dale, I’m sorry, but I’ve got to get home!”
“I don’t know what to tell Alex!”
“Tell him that you’re working on a story!”
I can’t lie to him, Dale!”
She called Alex and told him that she wouldn’t be home that night. She was working on a story. Every once in a while she did have to stay out all night for a story.
“Sharlee, order a pizza for you and your brother and sister. Your mom is out on a story, and I have to go out for a while!”
“What are we going to do, Alissa?”
“I don’t know!”
“You’re Alex aren’t you?”
“Dale! Where the hell have you been?”
“Let me assure you that I will thoroughly check your story out! So, if you’re lying then you’d better tell me now!”
“I’m sorry, Alex! I didn’t want to hurt you!”
“How long has this been going on?”
“We just reunited today!’
The confusion and hurt look in her eyes made Dale wish momentarily that he had not come back. Then he remembered that he had found her sobbing in the park because she missed him so much. He knew that he had made the right decision by finding her. Maybe he could make it easier for her.
“Alissa, could you please excuse Alex and me for a little while? We need to talk.”
“When I first talked with Alissa today, she was in a park. She was sitting alone on a bench sobbing so deeply that she didn’t even notice when I sat down beside her. She was crying because of the pain she still felt from losing me. She missed me that much.”
Although he was sorry for Alissa’s pain, Dale was happy that she had missed him so strongly; and that she had loved him and still did.
He continued. “She hasn’t told you because she doesn’t want to hurt you!”
“So what, you think that because you told me that, I am going to just hand Alissa over to you now? To be honest, I don’t care. Of course I know she misses you, but that doesn’t mean that she isn’t happy with me! I make her happier than you ever did. I satisfy her in ways you never could. She is safe with me! With you she was abducted, shot by a hitman and raped by two men! You couldn’t protect her. I do! Over the years I have had to pick up the pieces because you couldn’t.”
“I stepped aside once, but this time I’m not doing it! Like you loved to tell me, I’m telling you now. Alissa is my wife, and you had better stay away from her! I don’t care where you go. You can go to hell for all I care. You died two years ago. You should have stayed dead!”
He tried to punch Dale and Dale surprised him by quickly avoiding his fist.
“Let’s go, Alissa!”
She decided it’d be best to go with him. She looked back at Dale as she preceded Alex through the door. Surprisingly Alissa and Alex didn’t talk on the way home.
“Yeah, why don’t you? We just started!” Cara agreed.
Sharlee looked at her Mom closely. She looked different. She looked troubled, but she didn’t look sad anymore! Sharlee had hoped that after marrying Alex her mother would be happy like she used to be, but although happier, there was still often a look of sadness in her eyes.
“What is it Mom?”
She knew that she needed to tell them about Dale, but maybe she should wait until things were settled.
“On second thought, it can wait. Go back to your game.”
They played for a while longer and then Alissa got them settled in bed for the night.
She sat down beside him.
“It’s not going to work. You still want him!”
He got up from the bed and packed a suitcase.
He got dressed and then he left the house.
